GREECE!

Can you believe it we are at our 5th port already!! That means we are half way through the countries and pretty much half way through the voyage! I really can’t believe its been this long already because I feel like it is just flying by!

Alright so we are in Greece now what.. well the thing to do seems to be to visit an island. So Kristi and I went and bought ferry tickets this morning to go to Hydra tomorrow.. it took us a lot longer than expected though about a half hour walk then after that I had to stop at a bank to transfer some more money into euros.. we waited 40 minutes for our turn at the bank yikes..

Kristi had an SAS trip at 1 that was titled Sights of Athens and the Acropolis. My Athens by Bike tour that I had wanted to do got cancelled due to low interest for the day I had wanted to go so I realized I had no trips that were going to tour me around Athens so I wanted to hop on this trip too. Well we left the bank at 12:15 to have another 10 minute walk to the ship (on the way I ran into one of the field office staff and was able to buy a ticket for the trip!) then we had to stop in the cabin to get a few things and then grab lunch super fast and get back out to the buses. It was a rush but we made it!

Let me mention how this morning I felt like crap when I woke up, I think I had a fever last night into this morning. I was really light headed and congested as well. It was bad I didn’t want to do anything.. well I was able to fall back asleep for about an hour after taking some meds so that when I woke up I was feeling a little better but not great.  So then we had gone to the ferry and the bank and I had not eaten anything because I had missed breakfast..  but I still wasn’t hungry at lunch.. ive really lost my appetite.. I had 2 rolls and a couple glasses of water but really that’s it… so we get to the buses and off we are on the trip

We got to see some Olympic buildings, the parliament (which has cool guards outside that we got to get a picture with!) and a few other sights then we got to the acropolis.  It was cool but I wasn’t feeling well so I don’t think I enjoyed it as much as I could’ve.. it also didn’t help that it was over 100* today… =/ HOT!  I was pretty much miserable.. and felt like I might have been close to heat exhaustion.. I headed down to the bus a couple minutes early and took a break at a shady spot where our tour guide was sitting.. she mentioned how July is the hottest month of the year.. and we were at the acropolis at like the hottest part of the day, how nice.

So we headed back the ship. I had to lay down for awhile because I still wasn’t feeling great, I attempted to go get dinner didn’t really eat a whole lot again… then went and spent some time on the internet! Free wifi in the terminal!! Woohoo. It’s funny though because there were like 40 sasers in the terminal with their computers they probably thought we were crazy! Oh well =) I was able to text with sean a little bit on his lunch break and catch up on the pcc discussion board and add more pictures to facebook! Im still working on spain and got some more for it yet but at least it’s something right?!

Alright that’s all for tonight tomorrow going to Hydra should be relaxing-ish im excited!
