sufi dervish

Soooo today was really boring for most of the morning/ afternoon… Kristi had a trip that was from 9-3 but really got back at 430 and jackie and christina both had trips and all my other friends that I asked.. so everyone was gone and I had nothing and no one to go out with so I had to stay on the ship…. I only slept till 9ish surprisingly… then I read for a few hours.. looked through a lot of pictures.. had lunch

I felt like a pig at lunch today.. I left having used 3 plates! First I had a plate with salad, French fries!!, rice, and GRILLED CHEESE!!!! But guess what… the salad didn’t taste good… and neither did the grilled cheese =( =( I told sean last week how I was dying for a grilled cheese… and people on one of my trips were talking about it too.. and then there it is and it was bad.. I was very disappointed! Then I went and got another plate.. put more French fries on it because I figured that might be all I eat and then some of the cheesy pasta and the ketchup I forgot on the first round.. pasta= bad.. French fries were all I had to depend on.. only after so many they just weren’t very good either because they were wedge fries so they were very mushy potato-y and I don’t like that I like thinner, crisper fries… so then I decided I would have my very dependable backup meal.. a toasted peanut butter.. and I got tea…  yeah all that for me… ooopppsss =)

So after lunch I started working on my Spanish journal which im way behind on and it has to be 15 pages by the end of the voyage and its getting checked for the first time our next class day which is in like 4 days… so I got some work done on that, showered, tried to wash my shorts.. and then Kristi got back we watched a little of sound of music which is on the loop right now! And then went to dinner.. then had about 20 minutes to get ready for the sufi dervish ceremony!

So this is a traditional ceremony.. the people who participate are males.. and they are known as dervishes.. during the ceremony there is music and then the dancers spin in circles repeatedly.. its all religious.. and is supposed to symbolize how life is circular.. its really cool.. and really hard to explain like this.. with pictures and talking it will be a ton easier.. so I guess you’ll just have to wait for that… oh it was interesting though during the ceremony you are not allowed to clap or take pictures/ videos.. so I only have brochure pictures but that’s okay..

So anyways that’s really about it… GRAND BIZARRE tomorrow!!!!!
